Golden Hour Glamour: Inside Isabel Marant and Net-A-Porter’s Silver Lake Celebration

It doesn’t get more quintessentially L.A. than a golden-hour dinner at a mid-century architectural icon—and on Thursday evening, Net-A-Porter and Isabel Marant brought just that to life. The occasion? An intimate celebration of their exclusive High Summer ’25 capsule, set against the sun-drenched backdrop of Schindler’s legendary Oliver House, perched high above the Silver Lake Reservoir.

Actresses Rachel Bilson, January Jones, Alison Brie, and Lily Rabe arrived in breezy silks and easy linens from the capsule, spicy margaritas in hand, posing against the dusky sweep of the Hollywood Hills. Nearby, Madeline Brewer and Carlacia Grant—wearing a standout runway look—mingled poolside with Net-A-Porter’s fashion director Kay Barron and designer Aurora James.

Host Milla Jovovich, a longtime Marant muse, arrived with daughter Ever Anderson, joining Isabel Marant herself—effortlessly cool in a linen mini dress from the collection, gladiator sandals, and her signature tousled gray bun. Creative director Kim Bekker was also in attendance, alongside Hilary Rhoda, Emile Haynie, Richard Christiansen, and Trevor Cheney.

The setting felt perfectly Marant. The Schindler-designed home, part of the influential 1950s Case Study program, has long inspired the Parisian designer’s store architecture. And California, with its relaxed energy and layered aesthetic codes, remains a perennial muse for Marant, who redefined the rock-chic sensibility by blending French nonchalance with touches of surf, skate, and Americana.

“I’m very pleased to welcome you,” Marant quipped with her trademark French wit. “For those who think this is my house—it’s not. I wish it was. But it feels like me, and that’s why we’re here.”

As the sun dipped below the hills, guests sat down beneath the stars for a dinner capped by a toast from Net-A-Porter CEO Heather Kaminetsky. “At Net-A-Porter, we aim to create memorable fashion moments,” she said, raising her glass. “Tonight is for the confident girl who loves fashion—and just wants to have fun.”

Later in the evening, the crowd was treated to a performance by Luella, daughter of designer Ryan Roche. Dressed in a pinstripe suit layered over a swimsuit and styled by Dree Hemingway (who herself wore a slinky black silk jersey gown from the capsule), Luella performed a soulful set, including her debut single “Naive.” Backed by guitarist Henry Moser, she was joined by dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki, who brought choreographer Shi Joli’s (aka Shiloh Jolie’s) vision to life with sweeping, modern movement.

When dessert arrived—a silver tray of tiramisu emblazoned with the Isabel Marant and Net-A-Porter logos—it felt like the final, fitting note to an evening of effortless style, creative energy, and West Coast ease. As Marant put it: “It’s a reunion of all the cool girls. And that’s a vibe I love.”
