The Indiana Pacers’ Game 6 win over the New York Knicks sent coach Rick Carlisle’s team to the NBA Finals for a Thursday, June 5 date against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a result that fans hadn’t seen in 25 seasons.

Following the game, Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton’s father made his way through a fired up mass of Indiana fans, receiving hugs and high fives along the way, while making his way to the court where history had been made.

His famous son went also experience the dizzying highs of the Pacers’ big win, hoisting the Larry Bird trophy on the set of the final episode of the NBA on TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA.’

He later took to X to share a short message for Pacers fans after he and his teammates made history.

Haliburton basked in the love of Pacers fans on X.

“Now please complete the job,” another added.

“Staying up beyond 4 a.m. to watch you guys, now 6, isn’t easy,” another said with a sunglasses face emoji.

“Stop Shai from winning a ring,” another fan said of Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with a pair of praying hands.

“Finals MVP for Tyrese Haliburton,” another said. “Pacers in 7.”

“All good you will win Finals MVP instead,” another fan said about Haliburton, who some fans felt was snubbed for the Eastern Conference Finals award.

Haliburton scored 21 points in Game 6. He might need to ramp up the scoring production with the high flying, sharp shooting Thunder set to host Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday at Paycom Center in OKC.
