The Swedish golfer held on to grab a two-shot win on Sunday afternoon at Erin Hills, which gave her the U.S. Women’s Open title. It marked her second career LPGA Tour win.

As a result, Stark is also taking home the largest prize in women’s golf. She earned a $2.4 million check.

The USGA offered a $12 million purse this season, which matched the largest purse the tournament has offered and is the biggest in women’s golf as a whole. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was the only tournament last year to surpass the $10 million mark with its $10.4 million purse. Both the Chevron Championship and Evian Championship had $8 million purses, and the AIG Women’s Open had a $9.5 million purse.

By comparison, the Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour this week offered a $20 million purse. That’s in line with some of the largest of the season on the men’s side.

Stark grabbed her inaugural win on the LPGA Tour in 2022 at the Handa World Invitational, which she won as a non-member. She entered this week with just a single top-10 finish in eight starts on Tour, though she has six wins on the Ladies European Tour. Stark entered the week at No. 33 in the Rolex Rankings.

Stark, who started the day with a one-shot lead, posted an even-par 72 to wrap up the week. That kept her at 7-under, two shots clear of top-ranked Nelly Korda and the rest of the field.

Here’s a look at how much Stark and the rest of the field at Erin Hills earned this week.
