Four days after Maria Grazia Chiuri announced she would be stepping down from her role as Dior’s creative director of women’s fashion after nine years, the LVMH-owned house has confirmed that Jonathan Anderson will take on the overarching role of creative director, leading women’s, men’s and haute couture collections for the house. This follows the April announcement that he would be taking over menswear from Kim Jones.

“It is a great honor to join the House of Dior as Creative Director of both women’s and men’s collections,” Anderson said in a statement. “I have always been inspired by the rich history of this house, its depth and empathy. I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story.”

Anderson’s appointment marks the first time since Christian Dior himself that a director will work across all three design categories, “further strengthening [Dior’s] global creative vision,” the brand said in a statement.

“I am so delighted to welcome Jonathan Anderson to lead the women’s and men’s creations of the House,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture, Delphine Arnault, in a statement. “I have followed his career with great interest since he joined the LVMH group over 10 years ago. I am convinced that he will bring a creative and modern vision to our House, inspired by the fabulous story of Monsieur Dior and the codes he created. He will be supported by our teams and our incredible Ateliers who will bring his creativity to life.”

Anderson comes to Dior after spending 11 years as creative director for fellow LVMH-owned brand, Loewe. He transformed the Spanish house with his viral runway collections (particularly his optical illusion-fueled and Polly Pocket-esque Fall 2023 show), red carpet moments (see: many Greta Lee, Ayo Edebiri and Taylor Russell looks) and collaborations with filmmaker Luca Guadignino on costumes for his films “Challengers” and “Queer.”

Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, said in a statement, “Jonathan Anderson is one of the greatest creative talents of his generation. His incomparable artistic signature will be a crucial asset in writing the next chapter of the history of the House of Dior.”

Anderson continued in his statement, “I would like to express my sincere thanks to Delphine Arnault and Bernard Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years.”

The 40-year-old designer’s Dior debut will be for the brand’s Menswear Summer 2026 show, taking place in Paris on June 27, 2025.
