Kylie Jenner’s Breast Implants Reveal: Surgeon Explains the Procedure

Kylie Jenner is the latest in her family to make headlines for her history with plastic surgery. The 27-year-old beauty mogul sent the internet into a frenzy Tuesday when she responded to a content creator’s inquiry about her breast augmentation, sharing both her exact implant size and the name of her surgeon. “445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol,” she wrote.

Shortly after, Dr. Garth Fisher, the board-certified professional who’s also responsible for Kris Jenner’s 2011 facelift, took to his Instagram account to reveal the Kylie Cosmetics founder got Natrelle by Allergan Aesthetics implants. Natrelle was first introduced in 2006 and is now the top surgeon-selected gummy implant brand. The material is a cohesive gel silicone made in five different profiles and three unique gels.

Dr. Davis Shafer, a Manhattan-based plastic surgeon, told WWD Natrelle is “the industry leader in terms of breast implants” alongside Mentor, Sientra and Motiva. “But Natrelle is the one that people ask for by name, kind of like when people say Botox,” he explained.

“ When you look at breast implants, you wanna look at the shapes and the cohesiveness. You also wanna look at the shell that’s on it and the texture that’s on it. And then you also wanna look at the warranty that that comes with it, because any surgery’s not without issues,” Shafer continued. “Natrelle comes with a really good coverage and warranty program, which can help make the patients feel safer.”

Within the last few years, the implants have been developed to achieve “nicer,” more natural augmentations with considerably less rippling, according to Shafer. “ It’s not your grandmother’s breast implant now. Now it’s like a modern generation breast implant,” he said.

The surgical-grade silicone used in Natrelle implants is an inert substance, reducing the risk of future complications such as leakage. The need for breast implants to be redone could stem from a number of factors, including incorrect implant size or shape. Capsular Contracture is another complication that would require a patient to go back in for a follow-up augmentation. This occurs when the immune system responds to the implant by causing scar tissue to form and tighten around it.

“ Sometimes the body has a reaction to the implant and makes a thicker capsule around it. That’s where you see patients where it looks like a like a stuck on ball on their chest,” Shafer explained. “Oftentimes, that’s when it’s just put right under some thin skin.” He also said Jenner’s decision to get “under the muscle” decreases the chances of this happening.

That said, Shafer advised individuals considering breast augmentation to consult with a trained professional before following Jenner’s exact augmentation. “If they get that exact same implant, 445 moderate profile, they’re not gonna have the same look as her because many factors go into the end result in terms of how much natural breast tissue you have, how thick your skin is, how much muscle mass you have, all of those things determine the final outcome, as well as the surgeon,” he noted.

Jenner’s candid reveal follows her previous comments about having gotten breast implants before her first pregnancy at 19. “You know I got my breasts done before Stormi, within six months of having Stormi, not thinking I would have a child when I was 20. They were still healing,” she said during a 2023 episode of “The Kardashians.”
