Luxury resale platform Rebag is launching on Amazon to offer nearly 30,000 pre-loved designer items spanning handbags, jewelry, watches and more to a wider audience. Available brands include Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Cartier and more. Each item is inspected and verified by Rebag, and the Rebag collection launches in Luxury Stores at Amazon on Tuesday, available here. {Fashionista inbox}

Shakira launches hair-care brand Isima

Shakira is entering the hair-care category with Isima, a “clinically-backed” brand inspired by the hair diversity of the Latin community. Isima is launching with eight products, including a shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, hair oil, hair mask, scalp serum and curl protector. Ranging in price from $32 to $42, Isima will be available in all U.S. Ulta stores this summer and will launch on its direct-to-consumer website this June. {Fashionista inbox}

JD Vance hints he supports deporting menswear critic

JD Vance suggested that he supported deporting a user known as “Derek Guy” who runs a popular X (formerly Twitter) account on menswear after the user shared his experience as an undocumented immigrant in the U.S. Other X users tagged Vance, suggesting he deport the user, to which Vance responded with a meme of actor Jack Nicholson shaking his head “yes” menacingly. “Derek Guy” posts his thoughts on menswear trends, and has previously critiqued Vance for his clothing choices. {The Independent}

American entrepreneur to acquire La Perla

American industrial entrepreneur Peter Kern is acquiring lingerie label La Perla, according to Italian unions Filctem Cgil and Uiltec Uil. The business plan confirms 210 existing employee positions and about 40 new hirings, and also hinges on investments of almost €30 million by 2027. The brand was declared insolvent by an Italian court last year. Kern is the former CEO of Expedia, a U.S. travel technology company. {WWD/paywalled}

Olivier Rousteing to be honored by The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT

Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing will be honored by The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT with the 2025 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion. Rousteing will receive the award during the council’s annual luncheon on Sept. 3, 2025 at Lincoln Center. “Appointed to his post at Balmain at the age of 25 as the youngest creative director in Paris since Yves Saint Laurent, Olivier Rousteing has had a major influence on the industry,” FIT President Dr. Joyce F. Brown said in a statement. “Olivier’s path as a visionary young designer is especially inspiring to our students, and we celebrate his cultivation of a broad and inclusive clientele over the past 14 years at Balmain.” {Fashionista inbox}

Why Tower 28’s ‘no white cast’ sunscreen backfired

Tower 28 claimed that its new SOS FaceGuard SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen has a universal tint and leaves no white cast, but it has since apologized after cosmetic chemists and influencers pointed out the claims didn’t live up to application. Founder Amy Liu posted a statement on social media taking full responsibility and promised reform, starting with removing “universal tint” and “no white cast” from the sunscreen’s marketing. She also committed to introducing a reformulated version of the product for deeper skin tones.{Beauty Independent}

The jeweler to reality TV stars

Jewelry designer Kyle Chan rose to fame in the celebrity jeweler world thanks to his connection to Kyle Richards, the longtime star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Chan immigrated from Hong Kong to the U.S. when he was 13 years old, started making jewelry in high school and later began selling his handmade designs at the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk in 2010. Richards started wearing Chan’s pieces on the show, which premiered in October 2010, and posting about them to her millions of followers. Since then, Chan’s work has been sold at more than 300 retail boutiques worldwide, he opened his flagship boutique in Beverly Grove and celebrities like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé have worn his designs. {The New York Times/paywalled}
