Model Colin Jones Shares Her Perfect Go-See Outfit

Gone are the days when models had to dress like a blank canvas for their various go-sees. This new crop of models are embracing their personal style and expressing their individuality through their fashion choices—be it with jeans and a tee or a statement dress. Here, Vogue dives into the stylish wardrobes of a buzzy models of the moment, to see what they wear to their casting calls. This isn’t any old clothing haul!

Meet model Colin Jones. Growing up in Spanish Fork, Utah, Jones was signed to her mother agency NIYA Management over a Zoom call—ah, the modern world!—and the rest is history. (She is now also signed with Women Management in New York.) Recently, you may have seen the catwalk star bringing her inimitable (and always fierce) walk to shows like Maison Margiela, Mugler, and Ferragamo. She has also graced editorials of magazines like i-D and Pop, as well as major campaigns for KNWLS and Byredo.

Below, Jones discusses her discovery story, her favorite assignment to date, and what’s in her closet. (Hint: She loves her some Chanel.)

Vogue: Tell us your discovery story.

Colin Jones: Modeling has been my dream since childhood. One Christmas, I received my first iPod Touch and stumbled upon a vintage Chanel runway show from the late ’90s on YouTube. That moment sparked a deep fascination with fashion. The summer before my senior year of high school, I submitted photos of myself online to a local Utah agency. A Zoom meeting with my mother agent led to signing my first contract, and soon after, I was invited to New York to meet with agencies. I moved a month after that, and I’ve been working in the industry ever since. I’m incredibly grateful to say that my childhood dream has come true. Every day feels like I’m truly living in a movie.

What’s been your favorite job thus far?

Walking the Mugler show was always huge goal of mine. I remember obsessing over Casey Cadwallader’s work when I was in high school. I loved walking my school hallways to the Mugler show soundtracks. I also treasure the i-D shoot with Mario Sorrenti and Alastair McKimm, as it celebrated the vital importance of featuring LGBTQ+ individuals and sharing our stories.
