
NORMAN — It's been a little over a week since OU baseball's season concluded with a regional loss to North Carolina.
The Sooners won 14 games in their first season in the SEC, including five of 10 series, and advanced to an NCAA regional final for the third time in the last four years. However, Skip Johnson's crew will have some holes to fill in 2026, likely losing multiple leaders to the MLB Draft and needing to get more talented to compete with the top half of the league.

Players joining OU baseball in transfer portal
Camden Johnson, IF (Wichita State)
Johnson committed to OU on June 10 after hitting .325 and starting 56 games for Wichita State last season as a sophomore. In two seasons with the Shockers, Johnson hit .326 and started 116 games. Johnson was a four-year letterwinner at Boerne High School in Boerne, Texas.
Nolan Stevens, INF/OF/LHP (Mississippi State)
Stevens committed to the Sooners on June 6. He started 28 games at Mississippi State this past season as a sophomore, hitting .320 with four home runs and 21 RBIs. Stevens was ranked the No. 69 player in the nation and was ranked as the No. 2 first baseman in California by Perfect Game out of Franklin High School in Elk Grove, California. He earned Perfect Game All-American honors twice.
LJ Mercurius, P (UNLV)
An All-Mountain West Second Team honoree, Mercurius committed to OU on June 6. Mercurius made 12 appearances and 11 starts as a sophomore in 2025, leading UNLV with a 3.57 earned run average. He struck out 58 batters in 53 innings. He was ranked as the top-rated right-handed pitcher in Nevada for the class of 2023, ranking No. 78 nationally among right-handed pitchers by Perfect Game. Mercurius has been invited to join the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp. Mercurius joins his brother, Alexander, who is an OU 2025 signee.
Cayden Brumbaugh, UTIL (Nebraska)
Brumbaugh, an Edmond native who spent one season at Oklahoma State before transferring to Nebraska, committed to OU on June 6. As a redshirt junior in 2025, Brumbaugh hit .309 with five home runs and 33 RBIs. Brumbaugh played high school ball for four years at Santa Fe High School, where he hit .400 as a senior and led the Wolves to Class 6A state championship as a sophomore in 2019.

The brother of former OU catcher and four-time softball national champion Kinzie Hansen, Cole Hansen didn't record any statistics in 2025 as a freshman.
Ryley Leininger, INF
Leininger didn't record any statistics as a freshman this past season.
Berkeley Roddy, RHP
Roddy didn't record any statistics as a freshman this past season.
Christian Hoffman, OF
Hoffman hit .077 and started one game as a junior with the Sooners this past season.
Beau Sampson, LHP
Sampson finished the season with a 5.06 ERA in 10 2/3 innings of work.
Jacob Gholston, RHP
Gholston finished the season with a 10.13 ERA in 5 1/3 innings of work.
