Ice Spice had a “Sex and the City” moment during an outing in New York City on Wednesday. The rapper joined Kate Spade New York and Teen Vogue for their summer kickoff party at San Vicente West Village, celebrating friendship and the fashion brand’s summer 2025 campaign.

For the event, Ice stepped out in a stunning, and rather popular, shoe style from Jimmy Choo’s recent The Archive collection. The Grammy nominee opted for the “72138” style, a pair of dainty, suede lilac sandals with a white feather embellishment, which are recognizable from a mile away to true shoe lovers.

The shoes are crafted with the softest shade of purple suede throughout and feature a barely there elasticated slingback strap on the heel. They are finished with delicate, individually placed feathers across the upper, which hold the shoe in place. The shoe features a rounded toe and is presented on a stiletto heel, measuring 100mm.
The “72138,” which originally debuted in 1998, was immortalized in popular culture thanks to an episode of “Sex and the City,” which helped cement Jimmy Choo as a giant in the shoe world. Ahead of the brand’s 30th anniversary, Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi, fashion designer Conner Ives and fashion journalist and archivist Alexander Fury joined forces to curate and rerelease styles from the brand’s archives.
The shoe revival brought back styles released between 1997 and 2001, with some of them appearing in the early seasons of the hit HBO series. Ice Spice’s pair appeared in the iconic “Help, I lost my Choo!” moment on the show, when Carrie loses her shoe as she rushes to catch a ferry. Now they are available to purchase for the first time since their TV debut for $995.

Ice Spice paired her lilac heels with an Alaïa lavender knit tank dress featuring scalloped trim at the hem and seaming details at the waist and back. The minidress featured a body-con fit, a low-cut neckline, and a center-back zip closure. She paired the dress with a diamond “Iris” name plate necklace and a diamond anklet on her right foot to add sparkle to the shoe.
The rapper and Charli D’Amelio were the guests of honor at the party since they starred in Kate Spade New York spring 2025 campaign. Other attendees included Teen Vogue editor in chief Versha Sharma, as well as influencers Ruby Lyn, Judy Kam, Nil Sani, Natalia Spotts, Sarita Cuervo, Ibukun Odeleye, Eden Masliah and Suban Mohammed.
