Nike Air Flightposite ‘Dusty Cactus’ Release Date HJ4466-001

No matter the color, Nike’s Air Flightposite sneaker is a thing of marvel. Its flowy, sculpted design was ahead of its time upon its release in 1999 and remains one of the brand’s most inventive models nearly 30 years later. With several Air Flightposites already released this year in both familiar and new colorways, another fresh look is coming to the sneaker and it’s a contender for one of the shoe’s most eye-catching looks yet.

Confirmed for a June release through Nike’s Snkrs app and select Nike Sportswear retailers is the Nike Air Flightposite Dusty Cactus/Persian Violet, or simply Dusty Cactus for short. This iteration of the Air Flightposite plays into the iridescent, color-shifting capabilities of the shoe’s molded liquid polyurethane shell, which Nike calls Foamposite. Similar to how the original (and recently reissued) Metallic Gold iteration changes its appearance depending on how the light hits it, the upcoming Dusty Cactus blends shades of green, blue and violet resulting in an oil slick-like appearance.

Beyond the head-turning colors, Nike added some special details to this Air Flightposite style. It features a metallic silver carbon fiber plate with a shiny chrome finish and comes packaged with an alternate set of reflective shoelaces. Other key Air Flightposite features, such as its zipper-equipped shroud, remain intact.

Although the Air Flightposite doesn’t have the same NBA signature sneaker connection as its Air Foamposite One predecessor, which was made famous by Penny Hardaway, ’99 model was plenty visible on the court. The original sneaker was worn by the likes of Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Allan Houston.

In addition to the Air Flightposite, the same Dusty Cactus colorway will also be featured on the more casual Clogposite model, which is also set to be released this month. On the same day, Nike will launch a Clogposite in Photon Dust/Summit White.

Retail pricing for the Nike Air Flightposite Dusty Cactus is set at $250 and the sneaker will be released from Snkrs on June 26 at 10 a.m. ET. The style has a SKU of HJ4466-001.
