Founder: Ou Ma

Origin Story: Designer Ou Ma’s journey into bridal and eveningwear design started unexpectedly but with deep personal meaning: After studying fashion design at FIT in New York, she worked at Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. During that time, friends and colleagues began approaching her to create their wedding dresses. During the process, she discovered a love of getting to know each bride and crafting something truly unique to their story.

Starting her own business was always just an idea, but she made that dream a reality once she got married and moved to Vancouver, Canada. Transitioning from corporate fashion to creating couture bridal and eveningwear allowed Ma to combine her technical skills with her passion for meaningful design.

At Ouma, the fusion of avant-garde aesthetics and timeless elegance is at the heart of each design. Inspired by the Chinese ink paintings, poetry and symbolism, each gown carries the emotional weight of heritage while remaining effortlessly contemporary. The brand’s zero-waste mission gives new life to bridal remnants through sculptural earrings and keepsake bags, offering a rare fusion of luxury and environmental responsibility.
