Telfar debuts reality-style casting show “New Models”

Telfar’s “New Models,” a reality-style model casting series for the brand’s runway show, premieres on Wednesday, June 18 at 8 p.m. ET. The hour-long special follows a cast of contestants through challenges and performance, culminating in a live vote during the broadcast, where viewers decide who will walk in Telfar’s runway show. Dôen raises Series A funding

Dôen has raised a growth equity Series A round led by venture firm Silas Capital, the company announced on Tuesday. The financial terms were not disclosed. Dôen’s new funding will go toward retail expansion, operational infrastructure and marketing. The capital infusion marks the first significant backing for the brand, which projects this year’s sales to reach more than $100 million in revenue. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

Coty is reportedly looking for buyers

Coty Inc. is reportedly looking for buyers, according to multiple industry sources that spoke to WWD. Though talks are in the very early stages, Coty is exploring a potential sell-off in two parts. That would involve its luxury division, including Gucci, Burberry, Jil Sander and Hugo Boss, and its consumer division, including Covergirl, Max Factor and Rimmel London. For Coty’s luxury business, sources have said that the company is in talks with Interparfums. It has also long been believed that Kering plans to take Gucci fragrance and beauty activity in-house once the license expires. {WWD/paywalled}

“Project Runway” designer fatally shot at Utah “No Kings” protest

Fashion designer Arthur Folasa Ah Loo who competed on Season 17 of “Project Runway” was shot to death on Saturday during a “No Kings” protest against the Trump administration in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ah Loo was a bystander who was killed during a confrontation between two armed volunteers who were assisting with crowd control at the protest and a man who was carrying an AR-15-style rifle. {The New York Times/paywalled}

Vince sales see slight decline in Q1

Vince Holding Corp. reported its financial results for the first quarter (which ended May 3, 2025) on Tuesday. Net sales decreased by 2.1% to $57.9 million compared to $59.2 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2024. This decline was driven by store closures and remodels which “negatively impacted the retail store channel in the direct-to-consumer segment.” Gross profit was $29.2 million, or 50.3% of net sales, compared to gross profit of $29.9 million, or 50.6% of net sales, in the first quarter of fiscal 2024. {Vince}

Nordstrom to open first local service hub in Brooklyn

Nordstrom is expanding its New York footprint by opening Nordstrom Local Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s first local service hub. The 3,000 square-foot neighborhood service hub is located at 154 N 7th St. and will open its doors on June 26. Nordstrom Local Williamsburg will offer online order pick up, returns, alterations, gift wrapping, clothing donation drop-off and its beauty product recycling program Beautycycle. The Williamsburg location joins Nordstrom Local West Village and Nordstrom Local Upper East Side. {Fashionista inbox}
