Judging by a choice photo of Pascal Siakam looking “possessed” before Game 6 of the NBA Finals, we should’ve probably known what was coming. With the Indiana Pacers’ season on the line as they tried to force a Game 7, there was simply no way Siakam wasn’t going to leave his mark. No way whatsoever. He’s too good and too skilled for a big moment like this.
Though, I don’t think anyone should’ve expected what the All-Star forward actually delivered.
Let’s cut to the last minute of the first half. Tyrese Haliburton picked Jalen Williams’ pocket with a steal and got things rolling in an odd-man fastbreak for the Pacers (as he often does). The ensuing highlight could’ve been Haliburton delivering an absurd, spinning no-look pass to Siakam in stride for an easy layup. Again, it could’ve, but Siakam had a say in the matter.
After taking Haliburton’s perfect pass in stride, Siakam unleashed an absolutely MONSTER poster dunk on Williams to add insult to his mistake on the other end of the court:
Now, look. This sequence is wild in itself to view on the standard TV replay. You could likely go on about your day after seeing this (and rewatching it multiple times, of course) without batting an eyelash.
But I assure you. Siakam’s dunk somehow looks EVEN cooler and even MORE vicious from this awesome courtside camera angle. It’s worth your time and your troubles. Trust me:
Good job and good effort to Williams. More importantly, kudos to Haliburton and Siakam for giving us one of the best moments of one of the best NBA Finals in years.
