What: A Las Vegas-based skin-care brand offering cleansers, serums and creams spotlighting “science-backed” and “high-performance” formulas.

Founder: Jackie Kim

Origin Story: Jackie Kim, a former attorney-turned-startup-investor specializing in hospitality and consumer goods, was overwhelmed with the skin-care landscape, so she set out to change it in 2017. She founded Maelove to formulate skin care for all stages of aging through “meaningful, high-performance products that deliver while being stripped free of all marketing mark-ups, confusing language and imposing multi-step regimens.”

She teamed up with cancer and brain researchers, chemical engineers, lawyers and medical doctors to help build out an internal process for evaluating ingredients and developing a formulation process. Kim then partnered with the most respected cosmetic laboratories in the U.S. to formulate “high-quality products that are science-backed and sensitive skin-friendly,” as well as dermatologist-tested, vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and free of parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances and dyes.
