Colts address quarterback first in very early 2026 NFL mock draft

In a very early three-round 2026 NFL mock draft, the Indianapolis Colts go all offense, which includes taking a quarterback.

In a very early 2026 NFL mock draft, Pro Football Network has the Indianapolis Colts taking a quarterback in the first round and going all offense in the first three rounds.

Now, of course, predicting who the Colts are going to take in next April’s NFL draft at this time is a nearly impossible task. Positional needs will change between now and then, while prospects will move up and down draft boards.

So, more than anything, these very early mocks should be used as guides for prospects to keep your eyes on during the upcoming college football season.

The draft order, which has the Colts picking at No. 7 overall, was determined by PFN’s mock draft simulator. Let’s take a look at who Jacob Infante has the Colts taking.

Pick No. 7: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana

I mean, if the Colts do hold a top 10 pick, it’s a safe bet that they’ll be taking a quarterback with likely widespread changes coming to this team.

Last season with Cal, Mendoza completed 68% of his passes at 7.7 yards per attempt with 16 touchdowns to six interceptions. He rushed for 334 yards as well.

“Fernando Mendoza possesses the size, arm strength, and flashes of top-notch accuracy to project as a starting quarterback at the NFL level,” wrote Infante. “If his consistency throwing down the field improves, he should compete to be the first quarterback off the board in 2026.”

Pick No. 39: Isaiah World, OT, Oregon

Tackle could end up being a need for the Colts; it all depends on how they feel about Jalen Travis, with Braden Smith set to be a free agent next offseason.

World spent the last three seasons at Nevada and was one of PFF’s higher graded tackles last season, allowing just one sack and 15 pressures over 457 pass-blocking snaps.

“Isaiah World excelled at Nevada and now brings his game to Oregon,” Infante wrote. “At 6’8″, he’s a massive, mobile lineman, and his upside is undeniable.”

Pick No. 71: Earnest Greene III, G, Georgia

If Matt Goncalves can perform as the Colts believe he can, then the Colts already have their guards for the 2026 season between him and Quenton Nelson. But depth here still could be addressed with some combination of Josh Sills, Wesley French, and Dalton Tucker currently filling those roles.

“Though primarily a tackle in college, I view Earnest Greene III best as a guard at the next level,” Infante wrote. “His physicality and athleticism give him starting upside in the NFL wherever he ends up playing.”
