How many tackles will Lavonte David have?

At 35 years old, Lavonte David remains one of the NFL’s most durable and productive linebackers. Now entering his 14th season, David continues to defy age-related expectations, showing no signs of decline in either efficiency or availability.

In 2024, David recorded 122 total tackles, including 76 solo stops, while starting all 17 games. He added 5.5 sacks, six pass deflections, an interception, and three forced fumbles, becoming the only linebacker in the league to hit those thresholds in every category.

David was effective in run support, blitz situations, and coverage, showing the same field vision and reaction time that have defined his career. Including when he beat a rookie quarterback to the sideline in the playoffs, showcasing he still has plenty left in the tank. He led all Tampa defenders in snaps (1,158), further reinforcing his status as the team’s most dependable every-down linebacker.

David re-signed with Tampa Bay this offseason on a one-year, $10 million deal, a sign of the organization’s continued faith in both his leadership and performance. With K.J. Britt no longer in the picture and no clear long-term successor on the roster, David is once again expected to be the central figure in Todd Bowles’ defense. The Bucs rely heavily on their inside linebackers in both run defense and blitz packages. David’s communication, discipline, and conditioning make him invaluable in this structure, and his durability, with 14 or more games played in 11 of 13 seasons.

Projected 2025 Tackles: 115–130 total tackles
