Colorado State is high in college football recruiting rankings

play

  • Colorado State’s 2026 football recruiting class is currently ranked 58th nationally by 247Sports, potentially the highest ranking since 2004.
  • This ranking comes as CSU prepares to join the Pac-12 in 2026.
  • The Rams’ average recruit score is just slightly behind Boise State among Pac-12 teams.

Will this be the top-ranked recruiting class in program history?

A bulk of the work for Colorado State football’s 2026 recruiting class is done with the surge of June visits over.

The Rams have landed 21 publicly-known commits so far, which will constitute the majority of the signing class.

With that push, CSU has surged up the recruiting ranking charts into new territory for the Rams.

CSU’s 2026 class currently (as of June 27) ranks in the top 60 in college football. The Rams are No. 58 in the team rankings from 247Sports.

Classes can’t officially sign until December at the earliest and there will certainly be movement in CSU’s classes and others, so the rankings will shift and shuffle. But still, this is setting up to be a high water mark.

Colorado State football ranking notes

Recruiting ranking history goes back to 2000 and the only CSU class in the territory of the current group is a 2004 class that 247Sports ranked No. 56. That was headlined by Kyle Bell, Caleb Hanie and Alex Square, among others.

CSU’s 2026 class trails only the University of South Florida (43), Appalachian State (45), Boise State (54) and Sacramento State (57) as the top-ranked classes outside the Power 4 conferences.

The Rams are currently ahead of many Power 4 programs, including: Oklahoma State (60), UCF (61), Arizona (62), Ole Miss (64), Kentucky (65), Houston (66), Utah (68) and more.

It’s worth noting that the team rankings are based on the total points, so teams with fewer commits right now could be ranked lower.

CSU’s 2026 class currently includes two of the top-10 recruits the program has ever landed in 247Sports’ ranking history.

Peer-to-peer rankings are worth checking out and the 2026 class will be CSU’s first in the Pac-12, with the Rams joining the rebuilt league for the 2026 football season.
