The San Diego Padres had one of the game's best hitters in Juan Soto for the 2022 and 2023 MLB seasons. While he joined halfway through the 2022 season, he was in San Diego for the full year.
That season, he earned an All-Star nod, the third of his career, and his first in San Diego. But two years later, and now on the New York Mets, Soto missed the All-Star game, and is one of the biggest snubs this season.
Dan Martin of The New York Post shared Soto's reaction to the news he didn't make the All-Star team, and it was one of the biggest snubs of the year. "Sometimes you're gonna make it and sometimes you don't," Soto said. "It's just part of baseball."
While he's taking it in stride, that doesn't mean he thinks he didn't deserve it. When he was asked if he thought he did enough over the past month to make the team, Soto said, "It looks like I didn't. I've just got to be better."

Since June first, Soto has a 1.153 OPS, 12 home runs, 36 hits, 29 runs scored, and 24 RBIs. In the last month, Soto has been one of the best hitters in baseball.
On the season, Soto is batting .263 with a .904 OPS, easily deserving of an All-Star nod, especially with how dominant he's been lately. But, he was snubbed, and the former Padre is missing out on an All-Star appearance, barring him from replacing an injured player.
While not the sole reason for Soto missing, Fernando Tatis Jr. made the All-Star team, and his OPS this season is .800, over .100 points lower than Soto's. There are a couple of major snubs from this year's All-Star voting, but few stick out as much as Soto.
The former Padres All-Star is missing out on the 2025 All-Star festivities, for now, despite being more than deserving of a spot on the All-Star team. Ironically, his former teammate, Tatis, played a role in Soto missing a spot on the All-Star roster.
