Lorde took a laid-back approach to her beauty aesthetic in Paris on Tuesday morning for Chanel’s fall 2025 couture show, set on the second floor of the Grand Palais.
The “What Was That” singer — who just released her fourth studio album, “Virgin,” in June — pulled her hair back in a classic half-up, half-down style, leaving one chunk hanging down in the front of her face. Her inky black locks were noticeably untouched; the frizzy form preserved. Soft waves rattled her tresses below the ears, most of which were tucked behind her shoulders.

Lorde hasn’t been styling her hair much these days amid her journey to embrace organic beauty. Indeed, her hairdo at the Chanel show drew a stark contrast to the “rough around the edges” persona she’s constructed in the wake of her new album, a coming-of-age pop anthem chronicling her early 20s. The sophisticated style, however, complemented the ultra-feminine, mid-thigh black baby-doll dress she wore at the presentation.
Similarly, her makeup spoke to her newfound appreciation for her natural self. Aside from touches of bronzer in her eye crease, Lorde’s face was void of products. Her lips were lightly painted in a coral shade, while her bushy brows were brushed up. Makeup artist Amber Dreadon, whose client list includes indie singer Clairo, has worked on Lorde’s visage in the past; however, it’s not confirmed that she helped design her beauty aesthetic for the Chanel show.
When it comes to hair, Lorde has tapped Panos Papandrianos for the job. Papandrianos constructed the artist’s hair for multiple magazine covers and the 2025 Met Gala, which included a slicked-back braid extension embellished with silver hair charms.

Lorde time-traveled back to the early 2000s with her accessories for the Chanel show. She wore a diamond-encrusted statement feather necklace to match the beaded armband on her fuzzy dress. The “Ribs” vocalist, styled by Taylor McNeill, added an anklet with dangly charms to match the jewelry stitched along the top of her black pointed-toe pumps. Outside the venue, tortoise sunglasses concealed her eyes.
Other A-listers in attendance at Chanel included Naomi Campbell, Gracie Abrams, Laufey, Monégasque model Charlotte Casiraghi and Penélope Cruz.
