Cardinals to face several of NFL’s top DTs in 2025

Arizona has no DTs in ESPN’s top 10 but will face four of them, plus another two with honorable mention.

As NFL training camp approaches for most NFL teams (the Los Angeles Chargers reported on Saturday), sites continue to publish lists, rankings and predictions.

ESPN has been revealing player rankings at different positions, but with a twist. They are based on the votes of coaches, scouts and executives.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed the rankings for the defensive tackles— the top 10 and five honorable mentions. While the Cardinals upgraded the position group this offseason with veteran additions of Dalvin Tomlinson and Calais Campbell a season after adding Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols, in addition to the drafting of Darius Robinson and Walter Nolen in the first round of the last two drafts, it is no surprise that none of their players make the cut, even with honorable mention.

The Cardinals do, though, face a few of them.

NFL D-lineman rankings: Which players will the Cardinals face in 2025?

The Cardinals will face four of the top 10 and two of the five who received honorable mention. However, two are in the NFC West, so they will face them twice.

  • No. 4 Jeffery Simmons, Tennessee Titans (Week 5)
  • No. 6 Leonard Williams, Seattle Seahawks (Weeks 4, 10)
  • No. 8 DeForest Buckner, Indianapolis Colts (Week 6)
  • No. 9 Vita Vea, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 13)
  • Honorable mention Derrick Brown, Carolina Panthers (Week 2)
  • Honorable mention Kobie Turner, Los Angeles Rams (Weeks 14, 18)

We all saw how Williams almost single-handedly beat the Cardinals in Week 12. Turner has 17 sacks in two NFL seasons. And while the Cardinals feel good about Evan Brown at left guard and Hjalte Froholdt at center, Isaiah Adams is a question mark at right guard.

We will see how well the Cardinals can neutralize these impact interior defenders in 2025.
