In a recent revelation from SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is aware of the club’s financial struggles but remains hopeful that the board will bring in a new left-winger before the transfer window closes.
Although Barcelona’s finances are slowly improving, they are not yet in a perfect place when it comes to La Liga’s strict financial fair play rules.
The club does have money available, as shown when they were ready to pay the release clause for Nico Williams just a few weeks ago. However, Barça are still working towards achieving the 1:1 rule, which will allow them to spend freely again.
They are expected to reach this milestone in August, but even then, they will need to create extra space on the wage bill to register new players properly.
Flick understands but wants reinforcements

The German coach has accepted that signing a new full-back will be difficult, and for now, he is satisfied with the defensive options he has in Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Hector Fort.
However, Flick has made it clear to the club that he still wants a new signing for the left-wing position. After Ansu Fati’s departure and the expected exit of Pau Víctor, Barcelona’s options in attack are becoming thinner.
Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Lewandowski, and Raphinha will stay, and Flick can also use Fermin Lopez or Dani Olmo in forward roles if needed.
The expectation is that Barcelona will make the attacking reinforcement Flick has asked for once the financial fair play situation becomes clearer in August.
Until then, the coach will need to be patient, but the club intends to give him the support he needs.
