WNBA’s Angel Reese Taps Into the Clear Shoe Trend in Minneapolis

Angel Reese put a sharply transparent twist on summer footwear before hitting the court on Tuesday, arriving at Minneapolis’ Target Center in pointed clear PVC stilettos with a high-shine finish.

The illusion heels featured a sharply tapered toe, high-gloss sole and tall stiletto base, creating a barely there silhouette that revealed a clean white pedicure while elongating the foot. The minimalist upper gave full visual focus to the foot’s natural shape, a common signature of the clear shoe trend, which continues to dominate both runways and tunnel entrances this season.

The Chicago Sky forward paired the statement heels with a full Gucci look, layering multiple monogrammed pieces from the Italian house. Her outfit included a cropped brown GG viscose knit halter top, a matching pencil skirt and a coordinating draped scarf worn asymmetrically across one shoulder. She accessorized with rectangular black sunglasses and carried Gucci’s oversized Giglio tote in classic beige and brown GG canvas.

Although she’s closely tied to Reebok — including the upcoming launch of her first signature sneaker, the Angel Reese 1 — the 6 foot, 3 inch athlete has long made heels a part of her off-court fashion language. From her Met Gala appearance to pre-game tunnel walks, Reese consistently gravitates toward sculptural footwear and isn’t afraid to embrace verticality. Her choice of clear heels here mirrors recent takes on transparency seen across the celebrity sphere — from Rita Ora’s Sportmax wedges to Pamela Anderson’s mesh Jacquemus sneakers — but lands with a distinctly Reese-specific balance of glamour and control.

The Sky faced the Minnesota Lynx later that evening, but the moment before tipoff was all hers. With each arena arrival, Reese continues to define her own lane — one heel at a time.
