3 observations from Day 5 of workouts

Buffalo Bills 2025 NFL training camp is underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day.

Throughout practices, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes.

In terms of Day 5 of training camp, what stood out the most? First off, there were pads on.

Here are three observations from the fifth day of Bills training camp:

Injuries adding up

Unfortunately, injuries are adding up early for the Bills at training camp. The highlighted one on Monday was tight end Dalton Kincaid who sat who out knee soreness. Thankfully, it’s early.

Here’s the full list of current banged up players in Buffalo:

Two defenders stand out

Between pass breakups and tackles for loss, cornerback Christian Benford and linebacker Matt Milano were standouts during the first padded workout for the Bill. Benford was just signed to an big contract extension this offseason while Milano reworked his contract making 2025 the final year of his deal. That has a lot to do with his injury history, but he could return with a good season.

McDermott lays down the law

Head coach Sean McDermott knows training camp dust ups happen. Offensive lineman Alec Anderson was part of one recently but Anderson was tossed out of a practice on Friday as he was seen tearing off the helmet of rookie linebacker Hayden Harris.

McDermott noted Tuesday he was not happy about what unfold which led to Anderson being asked to leave.

“Fights are going to happen; when you cheap-shot somebody, I have no respect for that,” McDermott said via video conference. “I thought that was a cheap shot so I sent him to the locker room and communicated clearly to him why I did that. I believe in Alec. He’s one of our tone-setters, which I love, but there is a line there.”
