Montreal mood board-turned-design studio JJJJound is preparing to release its latest sneaker collaboration, a two-SKU link-up with Annecy, France-based sporting goods manufacturer Salomon. 

For their second project together, JJJJound and Salomon focus on one of the latter’s most popular footwear models, the XT-6. Two styles are included: a blue/yellow/black and a gray/black. According to JJJJound’s official product description, each pair has its own unique reference points.

JJJJound states the more colorful option of the two is inspired by “modern enthusiasts of heritage style known to pair classic garments with boldly functional footwear,” while the darker pair offers a “versatile and contemporary option rooted in Salomon’s own archive.”

While different in their base colors, both JJJJound x Salomon XT-6 pairs share a common thread in the use of vibrant red as an accent color, along with Salomon’s signature multicolored tongue label. JJJJound branding is found both there and on the insole as well as the medial heel of each style.

While the Salomon XT-6 was originally a high-performance running shoe for long distances, it’s been adopted as a lifestyle shoe in recent years. The model was originally released in 2013 as part of the brand’s premium S/Lab product line. And before the XT-6 was 2008’s XT Wings, which featured the same Agile Chassis System-equipped midsole featured on modern XT-6 offerings. Other technologies of note on the XT-6 include the brand’s SensiFit technology for a secure fit and Salmon’s signature QuickLace toggle lacing system.

JJJJound’s first Salomon collaboration was introduced in 2023 with the XT-Wings 2 silhouette. 

The JJJJound x Salomon XT-6 will be released from jjjjound.com on Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. ET followed by a wider launch from select retailers on Aug. 8. Retail pricing has not yet been confirmed.
