Jenna Ortega Makes Metallic Jimmy Choo Sandals Her Red Carpet Staple

It wouldn’t be a Jenna Ortega look without a pair of dramatically tall platform heels.

The actress donned an ethereal ensemble to attend the “Wednesday” season two premiere at Central Hall Westminster on Wednesday in London. And she completed her look with Jimmy Choo‘s towering Max Platform Sandals.

Ortega, who works with stylist Enrique Melendez, paired a sheer, second skin snake-print dress Ashi Studio fall 2025 couture dress that perfectly matched her skin tone, and added some high-shine contrast with a pair of the platform heels in a rich metallic gold color.

While the thin material of her dress concealed her shoes, they peeked through as she walked through the red carpet, and were also slightly visible through the fabric in some moments.

The Jimmy Choo Max 150 sandals are defined by their sculptural platform, a dramatic stiletto heel and delicate ankle strap. The shoes feature a peep toe design thanks to a thicker toe strap that goes over the upper, holding the foot in place.

The sandals have a rounded toe and a platform that sits on the front of the foot, providing height and support. The impressive heel measures nearly six inches, providing a significant boost, as well as an exaggerated pitch that gives the foot an incredibly pronounced arched profile.

The shoes retail for $990 and have become one of Jimmy Choo’s most popular heel silhouettes, especially when it comes to celebrities sporting the heels on the red carpet. The clean and simple design and the massive boost in height make the shoes versatile and wearable with just about any ensemble.

Zendaya wore the Jimmy Choo Max Platform in white to the 2025 Met Gala, Jennifer Lopez wore them in black to the 2018 Met Gala and Ortega has worn them on numerous occasions prior to the “Wednesday” premiere, including at a photo call earlier in the week.

Ortega has brought the shoes to other big moments in her career, including to the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival last August. For that event, she paired the Max sandals in a red satin style with a bright red Dior Custom Gown.

The “Death of a Unicorn” star wore the shoes in black when she made a guest appearance on Sabrina Carpenter’s video for “Taste” in August 2024, wearing the platforms with various ensembles. The Disney Channel alum previously wore the Max sandals in metallic gold to Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year event in November 2023, paired with a Dior spring 2024 fishnet dress, showcasing the versatility of the shoe.

Ortega, who is 5 feet, 1 inch, rarely ever shies away from a platform heel and has shown a preference for shoes that give her some added height. While she varies which brands she pairs with her ensembles, she often reaches for the Jimmy Choo Max sandals for red carpet events, usually pairing them with longer gowns.
