New Indiana Fever Player Didn’t Hesitate When Naming the Hardest Part About Joining The Team originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever have found some recent success during Caitlin Clark’s latest absence, winning two straight games and jumping to 14-12 on the 2025 WNBA season.
But with Clark out and a spot on the roster available, the Fever brought in a new player temporarily.
Indiana Fever Sign Forward Chloe Bibby
On Friday, the Fever revealed that they had signed Australian forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract. The former Maryland forward had played in five games with the Golden State Valkyries this year and tallied 11 minutes in Indiana’s win over the Chicago Sky. She recorded eight points, two rebounds and one block.
Bibby was also in China earlier this month for the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, where she helped lead the Australian national team to a gold medal. She was still overseas when she got the call from the Fever, and the rapid move across the world may have taken a toll.
Chloe Bibby Names The Toughest Part of Coming to Indiana
During the Fever’s media availability on Tuesday, Bibby was asked what the “hardest part of the fit” was in Indiana, and she promptly responded.
“The jet lag, to be honest, that’s probably it,” Bibby said. “Everyone else has been amazing. So it’s been easy to slide right in, but the sleep that’s probably got me.”
Bibby also mentioned she was able to catch up on her sleep earlier this week.
“Slept like 10 hours the other day, so I feel good,” she added.
Fever Coach Stephanie White Praises Chloe Bibby
Bibby certainly impressed Indiana coach Stephanie White during practice, speaking highly of her new forward ahead of Sunday’s win over Chicago.
“Her ability to stretch the floor, to be a shot maker, to create some space on the interior for AB, her size certainly as well, are all things that we liked,” White commented.
And afterward, White noted the importance of putting Bibby in early on.
“More than anything, they were playing zone,” she added. “Bringing in Chloe early and having four shooters around [Aliyah Boston] was important.”
