Miami-based celebrity hair colorist Ryan Pearl, whose past clients have included Hailey Bieber and Sophie Turner, was arrested on Wednesday in Coral Gables, Fl., reported the local CBS affiliate in the area on Thursday. He was reportedly charged with “cocaine possession, contributing to the delinquency of a child, using a computer to seduce a child into engaging in sexual conduct, traveling to meet a child after using a computer to lure them and two counts of transmitting harmful content to a minor electronically.”

Per the CBS report, the arrest was the result of a sting operation conducted by the Miami Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit and Tactical Robbery unit after an alleged victim’s mother brought her concerns to them. She had become “alarmed” over deposits on her 15-year-old daughter’s Apple Wallet account from Pearl, as well as “the nature of their communication,” she told CBS.

Pearl originally met the victim as a 13-year-old salon client, alleges the CBS story. According to the report, Pearl corresponded via controlled text messages with a police representative he believed to be the minor, and “had agreed to meet with the teen and bring ‘condoms and vaping devices.'”

At the time of his arrest, Pearl was reportedly also in possession of pink cocaine and “admitted to asking the victim if she would be his girlfriend,” per the PD’s account to CBS.

Pearl was most recently employed by Ollin Salon in Miami, and has worked as a brand ambassador for Redken and Tangle Teezer. A notable celebrity moment for the colorist was when he dyed Hailey Bieber’s hair pink for the 2018 Met Gala (shown above).

A public relations representative for Tangle Teezer had reached out to Fashionista with a pitch that included Pearl as a hair expert on Thursday morning; by Friday afternoon, the company stated it is no longer working with him. Representatives from Redken, Ollin Salon and Johnny Ramirez (who owns Ollin Salon) did not immediately respond to Fashionista’s requests for comment.

Fashionista’s audience includes 1 million site visitors, 110,000 newsletter subscribers and 4.74 million social media followers. Want to know how to reach them? Learn more.
