The Georgia Bulldogs have the best recruiting class in the SEC and all of America. Over the weekend, landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Anthony Lonon. Georgia beat out Georgia Tech to land the talented defender from Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia.
Georgia is contenders to finish with the top recruiting class in the country. The Bulldogs have either the No. 1 (247Sports) or No. 2 (ESPN, Rivals) recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. Georgia is only ranked behind the USC Trojans in both ESPN and Rivals’ rankings.
The SEC is the most competitive recruiting conference in the country and has six of the country’s top 10 recruiting classes. Georgia (No. 1 national recruiting class ranking), Texas A&M (No. 3), Alabama (No. 4), Texas (No. 6), LSU (No. 8) and Tennessee (No. 10) all have top 10 recruiting classes.
Not every team in the SEC is recruiting well. Uncertain futures for their respective head coaches appear to be hampering Auburn (No. 70) and Oklahoma (No. 41) on the recruiting trail.
SEC schools have commitments from three of the five five-star quarterbacks in the class of 2026. Tennessee quarterback commit Faizon Brandon, Texas QB commit Dia Bell and Georgia QB commit Jared Curtis are all expected to represent future of college football’s most important position in the SEC. However, nothing is set in stone until December’s early signing period.
