When Jason Crowe Jr. pledged to Missouri this summer, the Tigers received their highest-ranked commitment since Michael Porter Jr. in the 2010s.
Crowe, a prolific scorer for Inglewood (Cali.) High and the Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL circuit, ranked a Top 10 prospect coming into the summer. But in Tuesday’s update to the Rivals100, the four-star guard dropped to No. 17 in the nation, while slotted eighth as a five-star recruit in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
“Jason Crowe is a natural scorer,” national basketball recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw said in mid-July. “He plays with a lot of confidence, and he has good balance and footwork to get clean looks in the half court. He is a shooter, he has soft touch and deep range on his shot and he likes to get to the jumper and will use an array of step backs or side steps to get it off.
“Crowe is a volume shooter. He does not put much pressure on the rim, setting more for shots away from the basket. He can also get shot happy, disrupting the flow of offense at times. Defensively, Crowe can have lapses and inconsistent effort. The shooting is the superlative and he gets shots up at a high volume.”
Top targets to pair with Crowe at Missouri
Transferring to Branson (Mo.) Link Academy for his senior season, Taylor saw his recruitment flourish this offseason. The evaluation period opened the door for college coaches to see the big man’s growth as a scorer and continued defensive prowess. Missouri received a commitment prediction — with 30% confidence — from Shaw on Tuesday.
Tigers coach Dennis Gates got involved in Bryant’s recruitment during his junior season at Tampa (Fla.) Zephyrhills Christian Academy. Showing similarities to Bryant’s high school coach, Gates has kept Missouri in top contention for the four-star forward, who ranks No. 13 in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Joining Taylor at Link Academy for his senior year, Reed has stayed on Missouri’s radar with a series of visits the past year. The St. Louis product scheduled an official visit with the Tigers for later this month. Missouri also previously targeted his older brother, Tarris Reed, in high school and the transfer portal.
A longtime target of Gates and associate head coach Kyle Smithpeters, Chronister will officially visit the Tigers in September. Moving back to Arkansas for his senior year, the three-star forward will be back home before embarking on his college career.
