Editors’ Picks are the Fashionista team’s true (#notspon) fashion and beauty obsessions, handpicked by professionals who see it all.

As ride-or-die I am for the graffiti’d concrete and fast-paced lifestyle of New York City, I have to admit that I also experience cravings for do-nothing days in direct sunlight, open green spaces and close proximity to a body of water.

Although going “out East” to the Hamptons in the summer is often seen as an experience reserved for a privileged few with access to a private beach house, personal yacht or table at Surf Lodge, that doesn’t have to be the case. There’s plenty more to do in these small towns — and you don’t always need a massive budget or an influencer-level sponsored stay to enjoy them.

On a recent day trip with my dog, I took the train from Penn Station to Montauk and started my morning at my favorite breakfast spot (shoutout to Bird on the Roof). When I left, I visited an adorable pop-up that happened to be right next door, by PJs by PJ — a pajama line inspired by founder Phoebe Janovic’s favorite places to travel, including the Hamptons.

For the days I can’t make the three-hour commute, I can now take the best parts of my second favorite place (NYC is obviously number one) home with me on the softest, most comfortable sleepwear I’ve ever worn.

The print — available on boxer shorts and romper styles — features drawings inspired by iconic landmarks and items like East Hampton’s windmill, Gurney’s Resort, Amber Waves farmers market (my favorite place to get hot sauces) and even the TikTok-viral Round Swamp Farm chicken fingers. (Warning: some of the illustrations may cause incurable midnight snack cravings.)

While I first fell in love with the nostalgia-inducing artwork, the comfort and quality are what fully sold me on the brand. Instead of scratchy and stiff cotton, most of the pieces are made from a rayon-spandex fabric, a blend that gives each piece a soft, smooth feeling and a comfortable stretch for a sprawl-out-friendly rest.

Plus, the Hamptons Boxer works not just as pajamas, but also as a poolside cover-up. And who doesn’t love a multi-purpose purchase?
