Adanola receives minority investment from Story3 Capital Partners
U.K.-based womenswear brand Adanola announced a significant minority investment from Los Angeles-based private equity firm Story3 Capital Partners. This partnership marks a milestone in Adanola’s continued expansion, allowing the brand to strengthen its position as a global leader in the activewear space. OneSkin announces $20 million investment from Prelude Growth Partners
OneSkin has secured a $20 million investment from growth equity firm Prelude Growth Partners. The infusion buys out a former investor and will not dilute any other shareholders’ equity. OneSkin CEO Carolina Reis Oliveira said that Prelude Growth Partners had reached out with detailed plans and suggestions as to how a partnership could be fruitful. According to a source close to the company, OneSkin is on track to generate around $40-$50 million in revenue this year. Capri Holdings reports $56 million in Q1 net income
Capri Holdings released its first quarter fiscal 2026 results, which showed total revenue decreased 6% to $797 million. Despite the drop in sales, revenue saw less of a decline than in the fourth quarter. Net income was $56 million, compared to net income of $5 million in the prior year. The Versace transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025, which will give Capri a $1.4 billion cash infusion. {Capri Holdings; WWD/paywalled}
Prada Group names new chief communication officer

Prada Group has appointed Christopher Bugg as its chief communication officer, effective immediately. In his role, Bugg will oversee the global communication strategies of the Prada Group and its brands: Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s and Car Shoe. Bugg joined the company in January 2020 as marketing & communication director for Asia and, a few months later, was appointed group communication director. Before joining the Prada Group, he was the global digital communication director at Louis Vuitton in Paris. {Fashionista inbox}
Mecca opens the world’s biggest freestanding beauty store
Melbourne-based retailer Mecca is opening the biggest freestanding beauty store in the world on Friday. The store will be about 40,000 square feet spread over two floors. Industry sources expect the company to end the year with 1.8 billion Australian dollars (about $1.16 billion) in turnover. With the opening of the flagship, Mecca will dive deeper into health and wellness, as well as services (of which there will be more than 80). “It doesn’t take space to sell beauty. It takes space — and a lot of it — to experience beauty as we push into the blue zone of experiential beauty,” Mecca Founder and Co-CEO Jo Horgan told WWD. {WWD/paywalled}
Bath & Body Works is expanding into college bookstores
Bath & Body Works will be rolling out kiosks and displays at more than 600 campus bookstores across the U.S. throughout August. Bath & Body Works has partnered with the distribution company ICM to bring in-store displays to college campuses across the country. Participating institutions will range from HBCUs to Ivy Leagues and community colleges. Outside of duty-free retail, the college bookstore expansion marks the first time Bath & Body Works products will be sold outside of its own stores. {Glossy/paywalled}
