Reebok to Release Second Tobe Nwigwe Collab, New Chukwu Abuo Sneaker

Reebok is set to launch the next chapter of its ongoing partnership with Tobe Nwigwe later this month.

According to the athletic brand, the sophomore drop introduces the Chukwu Abuo (pronounced: ah-BOO-aw) footwear silhouette for both adults and children as well as an adult apparel capsule.

Reebok noted that the new Chukwu Abuo is built from its BB 4000 II sneaker model and is designed with a mixed-material upper, featuring hairy suede, nubuck leather, and textile. The shoe also features uniquely curved overlays, a lace toggle closure, custom-molded heel logo, gum outsole, and a co-branded sock liner. The shoe will be available in two colorways, Nwigwe’s signature mint color as well as chalk.

As for the apparel offering, the duo will release a full-zip hoodie, graphic T-shirt, coaches jacket, high-waist shorts and sweatpants.

For Nwigwe, this collection is rooted in growth – both personal and generational.

“I pulled inspiration from my family, especially my children, who constantly shape how I think, move, and create,” Nwigwe told FN in an exclusive interview ahead of next week’s launch. “Abuo means ‘two’ in the Nigerian Igbo language, and this is the second chapter in our journey with Reebok. It honors the people who came before me and the legacy I’m building now, with my wife and kids right beside me. The collection is a reflection of our family story—where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going.”

The multihyphened artist noted that the next evolution of the Reebok x Chukwu narrative builds on the success of the inaugural “Preseason Otu” launch earlier in 2025, continuing to blend Nwigwe’s personal storytelling with Reebok’s design heritage.

While the first drop celebrated legacy and roots, this collection highlights the importance of family as a source of strength and purpose. It honors both the generations that came before and those who share the journey today. Reflecting this theme, the collection includes children’s sizing, emphasizing connection across generations and the passing down of meaning and intention.

“This isn’t just a collab,” Nwigwe added. “It’s a wearable piece of my family’s story. Abuo represents alignment, legacy, and love. Whether you’re wearing the apparel or lacing up the kicks, you’re stepping into something that was created with intention. It’s for the culture, for the community, and for the next generation. It’s a reminder that no matter where you come from, you can walk with purpose.”

The new Reebok x Chukwu collection, which retails between $40 and $130, will be available exclusively on Reebok.com and through select specialty retailers on Aug. 22.
