Connor Zilisch reveals highly unfortunate hospital bracelet after NASCAR Watkins Glen fall, collarbone surgery

Connor Zilisch received a hospital bracelet that seemingly made fun of his fall at the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen. On X/Twitter, Zilisch shared a photo of himself wearing a bracelet with the words “Fall Risk” on it.

“The bracelet I got in the hospital this morning bc of anesthesia,” Connor Zilisch wrote. “Can’t make this stuff up.” On Saturday, Zilisch fell off his car as he was celebrating his victory at Watkins Glen. Before he shared his hospital bracelet, Zilisch revealed he had surgery on his collarbone.

“Wanted to give everyone a quick update. Had surgery on my collarbone this morning to get a plate and screws to help with the healing process,” Zilisch wrote. “Been a tough few days for me mentally, but all the love you guys have shown has certainly helped.”

Looking at Connor Zilisch’s rookie season in the Xfinity Series

Zilisch is looking to get back to action as quickly as possible, which is why he likely got the surgery. There is no Xfinity Series race this week, and the next event will be on Aug. 22. It’s not clear if Zilisch will return for that race.

“I think it’s a discussion that we all have to have,” Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks told reporters about Zilisch on Sunday. “We haven’t really talked about much, obviously, since yesterday, but in the little bit that we’ve discussed in some of the quiet moments over the last 24 hours, it’s going to have to be a group decision. It’s going to have to be sponsors, Chevrolet, the team, taking care of his development, taking care of him as a human and as an athlete, and then keeping his motivations high and making sure he knows he’s got a group of people behind him that are supportive of him.”

Connor Zilisch is in his first year as a full-time Xfinity Series driver and is having a memorable season. The 19-year-old has won six races and has finished in the top five in his last 11 races. In his Xfinity Series career, Zilisch has won seven races and finished in the top-10 17 times in 26 starts.
