Rising singer Nezza recently made waves online when she sang the Spanish version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” (titled “El Pendón Estrellado”) at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, despite being told not to. After her TikTok post documenting the powerful moment reached more than 14 million views and 2 million likes, the 30-year-old artist shared a follow-up clip reflecting on it, saying, “I just felt like I needed to do it para mi gente.”

Nezza (born Vanessa Hernandez) explained that she made the decision in light of the “No Kings” protests and ongoing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, particularly in her home state of California. Building off of the viral momentum, she announced a studio release (the first ever) of “El Pendón Estrellado,” with all streaming proceeds going to immigrant rights defense coalitions and the broader Hispanic community. Ticket sales from an upcoming concert at The Roxy in L.A. will also be donated to various nonprofits supporting immigrants.

Beyond her advocacy, Nezza is also proving to be a style star to watch. Devoted to Y2K aesthetics reminiscent of artists like Britney Spears and Shakira (she’s even appeared alongside the Latin music icon on tour), the “Classy” singer can be seen in everything from statement-making newsboy caps to faux-fur-trimmed pieces that Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire would certainly approve of.

What’s a luxury beauty item you’re into right now?

I’ve been eyeing the Contour Stylus from Victoria Beckham Beauty. Contouring my nose has always been tricky for me, but this precise pencil looks like it can help me shape my face very easily.

What’s a drugstore/mass market beauty item you’ve been eyeing?

I’ve been wanting to try the E.l.f. Cosmetics Sheer for It Blush Tint. I grew up loving the Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain, and I’ve heard this E.l.f. product is a really great dupe and a similar watery, buildable formula.

What’s a beauty staple you love so much you’ve bought multiples?

I love my current moisturizer. It’s the La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer! It’s super lightweight and comfortable to wear and makes my skin look glowy and feel healthy.

What’s an accessory you’re eyeing?

I’ve been eyeing basically everything from the jewelry brand Vanessa Mooney. Right now, I have my sights set on the gold Mama Bear Necklace. It’s on a moonstone chain and the nameplate is dipped in 18K gold.

What shoes do you want to buy right now?

I’ve been wanting a pair of metallic silver sneakers, and I really love the Wales Bonner x Adidas Samba shoes. They’re pretty much sold out everywhere, but I think they go with everything! This half-leather pair from the collab is cute, too — plus, they’re available.

Any other luxury fashion items you’re lusting after?

It’s always been a dream of mine to own a Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 25 — particularly the cherries-covered one from the 2005 collection with Takashi Murakami. I’d never take it off!

What’s an affordable fashion item on your shopping list?

I’m obsessed with the Danielle Guizio Micro Mini Stretch Skirt. It’s my go-to piece for whenever I’m going out. I already have two — one in black and one in brown. But now I want it in the Baby Pink colorway! 

What’s a wardrobe staple you love so much you’ve bought multiples?

I have several colors of the Princess Polly Archer Pants – they’re a super flattering straight-leg style. I love trousers because you can dress them up or down super easily. Whether I have a business meeting or a date night, I’m always reaching for them.

What’s the last product a friend influenced you to buy?

The Prada Paradoxe Intense Eau de Parfum — it smells unbelievable. I love the balance of its floral and musky notes. I get so many compliments whenever I wear it!

What’s the last product an influencer or celeb influenced you to buy?

Definitely the Nemat Vanilla Musk Fragrance Oil. I’ve been layering it under basically all of my perfumes. I carry one in my purse at all times so I can easily reapply. It smells amazing, whether on its own or mixed with my usual scents.
