Keen and Metalwood Studio Join Together For Golf Shoe Collection

Keen just scheduled its first tee time. The footwear brand is breaking into the golf shoe market with the help of Los Angeles-based golf streetwear brand Metalwood Studio, unveiling a collection offering pre- and post-round shoes.

Limited-edition iterations of the Hyperport Clog and Uneek II Convertible, both aiming to provide relaxation and balance, can be found at keenfootwear.com and metalwood.studio.

The former shoe option, priced at $160, is ultra-light and airy, influenced by Keen’s hybrid sandal featuring maximal cushioning and a highly grippy sole. Some of the design elements of the Hyperport Clog include an injected foam sole and Keen Aquagrip rubber helping with traction on wet surfaces.

Another versatile shoe, the Uneek II Convertible, priced at $150, is an open-air sneaker with an adjustable heel strap, allowing it to be switched from a shoe to a slide. Among its other features are a lightweight cord upper crafted from 100 percent recycled P.E.T. plastic and a bungee system that can be easily cinched to personalize the fit.

Both shoe options are crafted to reduce environmental impact with the use of ethically sourced suede for the Hyperport Clog and waste-minimizing cords for the Uneek II Convertible.

“Our partnership with Metalwood came about organically, as the team there had already been wearing Keen sandals before and after golfing,” said Masaki Takagi, Keen’s senior global merchandising director, in a statement. “We love that Metalwood is broadening the scope of golf and making it more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable. These are values we share at Keen.”

Meanwhile, Metalwood drew inspiration for the design from golf course typography and reflexology: “how the contours of the nervous system relate to our emotions on and off the golf course,” Metalwood founder Cole Young said in a statement. Bespoke Metalwood branding is featured in the design as well.

Keen, which announced it would not raise prices in 2025 due to tariffs, has been expanding its athletic footprint lately. The brand released its first trail running shoe, a creation called Seek, which was developed over the course of nearly two years, on July 25.

Keen has also counted MadHappy as a collaborator this year, releasing a collection that reinvented Keen’s Shanti clog.
