Premier League Preview: The fans’ view – West Ham

What lessons need to be learned from last season?

I think that we need to be patient and trust Graham Potter to work his magic, we need to leave it down to him for who we end up signing and who we don’t, and I think we need to be less critical in such hard times as last season we had a lot of lows. 🤷🏼‍♂️

What is your view on the manager?

I like Potter a lot, I do believe once he gets the players he wants then we will start to flow a lot more. From what I’ve seen, camp looks the best it’s ever been and the morale is still extremely high even after a poor season, which feeds us lots of excitement and enthusiasm. 🫧

What’s your verdict on the summer transfer window so far?

So far the transfer window has been very slow for us hammers fans, only two signings consisting of Malick Diouf and Kyle-Walkers-Peters as of yet, but hopefully looking to make more signings and expect many moves in the coming weeks. 💪🏼

*West Ham have since signed Callum Wilson and Mads Hermansen*

One player to watch from your club this season

I think the usual answer for this one would be Bowen. But I would also say players like Paqueta due to his spot-fixing charges being cleared and also Aaron-Wan-Bissaka as he was exceptional last season, despite our league finish. I expect them three to be our standouts again this season.

Who is the most underrated player at your club?

The most underrated player at our club I think is Bowen in terms of non-West Ham fans view on him. However, we already rate him highly. I would say a player like Aaron Wan-Bissaka as he has been amazing since he has joined.

The game you’re most looking forward to this season is?

The game I am most looking forward to is probably Tottenham at home. I expect controversy at that game, as well as all the London away games. They always turn out to be fun watches.

What opposition player do you secretly admire?

One opposition player I have always admired is Bruno Guimares.  I like the way he plays. He is a very good player for Newcastle and I personally would love him at West Ham, to join up with Paqueta (will never happen). 🤣

This season your team will finish…

This season if I was being realistic I will set a final checkmark of 13th. However, by the end of the summer transfer window if we end up getting some promising moves and players that Graham Potter feels he can work well with, then I don’t see why we can’t creep back into that top 10 and even push for Europe again. ⚒️
