Halle Bailey Marks LA Honor in Barely-There Black Stilettos

Halle Bailey tied her latest honor to a simple shoe silhouette that celebrities have favored all summer: the pared-back black sandal.

At Project Pit’s Maternal Health Summit in Los Angeles on Saturday, the singer and actress was recognized by the City of Los Angeles for her postpartum advocacy. For the occasion, she opoted for a ruched halter gown skimmed over slim black stilettos featuring a squared toe and two angled straps across the foot.

The simplicity of the stiletto is something she has embraced with past shoe styles. Back in February, she attended New York Fashion Week at Coach’s fall 2025 show in a suede pump with a pointed toe and mid stiletto heel.

She’s hardly alone in that move. Meagan Good wore wrap stilettos to the Pump Foundation Gala in Beverly Hills a night earlier, while Simone Ashley leaned on strappy Chanel flats on the “Devil Wears Prada 2” set. Vanessa Kirby tapped the look on her “Fantastic Four: First Steps” press tour in Berlin, pairing a gown with razor-thin black satin stilettos that echoed early 2000s minimalism. And at the ESPY Awards in July, rugby star Ilona Maher traded Adidas cleats for black sandals with a single toe strap and slender heel — a silhouette aligned with Saint Laurent and LaQuan Smith’s spring runways and one seen often on red carpets from Madelyn Cline to Kirby.

Bailey’s own take was punctuated with detail. She finished the look with a red pedicure, gold jewelry and a soft bun.

The Maternal Health Summit was held at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw. Honored alongside other advocates, Bailey shared on Instagram: “To be recognized for speaking up about maternal health and my own postpartum journey is really humbling just a reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness, it’s the bridge that connects us all.”
