Blair’s 52-yard touchdown sent Mercedes-Benz Stadium into a frenzy.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Chris Blair continues to turn heads with his quickness on the outside. In the team’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, he caught three of four targets for 54 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Blair’s 52-yard touchdown catch in the team’s 23-20 preseason loss to the Tennessee Titans on Friday night may ultimately help him make the 53-man roster entering the 2025 NFL season.
The Falcons are looking forward to wide receiver Darnell Mooney returning from a nagging shoulder injury but it’s good to know that Blair can be serviceable in his absence.
Others, including David Sills and Casey Washington, are firmly in the mix for Atlanta’s sixth wide receiver spot going into the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Blair is simply hoping his standout play is being noticed.
Drake London is obviously the top dog in Atlanta’s wide receiver room, but it will take the entire group stepping up for this offense to be successful in 2025. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has already shown himself able to distribute the football around so all Blair has to do it be ready when his number is called.
Falcons return specialist Jamal Agnew is likely to handle all the special team reps so Blair is essentially fighting for the No. 5 wide receiver spot on the depth chart. Nevertheless, Blair can and will have an impact if defenses let him out of their sights because he surely moves faster than you can blink.
