Alex and Ani embraced the childhood nostalgia trend with their latest Mattel collaboration. The American jewelry retailer and manufacturer debuted its new limited-edition collection of jewelry in collaboration with Polly Pocket.

Referencing the 1990s and early 2000s toy doll’s memorable compacts, the collection features three unique motifs — the heart, the star and the scallop shell. Each Polly Pocket symbol translates to distinct styles and a grown-up, contemporary iteration of the popular Mattel product.

“This summer marks an exciting new chapter for Alex and Ani,” said Prita Kumar, chief executive officer of Alex and Ani. “The overwhelming response to our Polly Pocket and Hot Wheels collections — along with several of our other well-received collaborations — has reaffirmed the emotional connection customers have with nostalgia, self-expression, and the Alex and Ani brand. We’re leaning into that momentum, and this is just the beginning of what we’re building.” 

Pieces in the limited-edition Polly Pocket x Alex and Ani collection include the House Locket, with pearlized, pastel bead chain, Locket Ring, with the hidden message “Tiny and Cute,” a Charm Bracelet with charms in the shape of a Polly Pocket doll and a scallop shell and an earring set with Polly Pocket doll shapes.

The Polly Pocket x Alex and Ani limited-edition collection is available to shop now on the jewelry retailer’s official website. Prices for the collection range from $38 to $68.

Alex and Ani’s recent nostalgia-driven collection follows the brand’s trend toward Y2K memorabilia and iconography. In July, the brand debuted its collaboration with Mattel’s Hot Wheels, spotlighting the high performance of die-cast racing in a collection of jewelry fueled by nostalgia.

Other summer collections and collaborations with Alex and Ani included the New York Botanical Gardens, a collection inspired by the animated series “The Powerpuff Girls,” and a collection coinciding with the summer release of “Superman.”
