Trey Hendrickson’s social media post gets hyped amid Bengals standoff

Is the Trey Hendrickson saga almost over for the Cincinnati Bengals?

With the preseason over and the Bengals facing down final cuts ahead of Week 1, now feels like the optimal time for the contract standoff with Hendrickson to come to a close.

A social media post from Hendrickson himself seems to hint as much, too.

As Bengals fans noticed in a hurry after it went live, Hendrickson’s passage shared on a new Instagram post appears to offer a hidden message.

In the grand scheme of things, maybe the message means little when it comes to the contract situation. But Hendrickson quickly became a “hold-in” at training camp this summer and helped mentor younger guys around him while continuing to travel with the team.

A recent report that suggested the Bengals were taking trade calls for Hendrickson seemed like a leverage play…not something that would actually lead to a trade.

This is the latest development around Hendrickson, most notably at the most predictable timeframe for a contract extension to happen so as not to interfere with practice ahead of Week 1:
