Inside Ariana Madix’s Glowy Glam on the ‘Love Island’ Reunion

Tonight, we returned to the Love Island villa—sort of—for the first time since the show’s season seven finale 43 days ago. The majority of the cast gathered on a sound stage—along with the mistress of the island (aka host of the show), Ariana Madix, and her co-host for the evening, Andy Cohen—to talk fashion, mental health, their current relationship statuses, and more.

For Madix, who has been on a glow-up journey since she began hosting the show in season six, the beauty look of the evening was worthy of a Balinese mermaid: long flowing waves, dewy skin, and a face card that was snatched beyond belief.

“We shot the reunion over a span of 17 hours, so longevity in the glam was key,” says Madix’s makeup artist Afton Williams. To keep her entire look set and in place for that super-long day, Williams started with Maybelline New York’s Grippy Serum and the Super Stay complexion line (it should be noted that the beauty brand was a partner on the show for this season). “They were the heroes that kept Ariana’s glam locked in all day (and night) with minimal touchups, because there’s no time to stop down when the tea’s piping.”

Lip combos were a major topic of conversation throughout season seven, so of course, Madix had to arrive at the reunion with a pairing of her own: First, the Super Stay lipstick in shade Seductress, topped off with the plumping Lifter Gloss in shade Ice, which Williams describes as “so spicy.”

If only the gossip that had been shared during the show had been as hot as the looks served.
