Report – Inter Milan To Close Transfer Window By Signing A Defender

Inter Milan could reportedly sign a new defender at the tail-end of the summer transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri may complete one more signing before the end of August.

Despite adding four new players during the summer, Beppe Marotta remains in the market for one last reinforcement.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri chief executive is still considering strengthening Cristian Chivu’s backline.

Yet, Inter’s incoming market depends on the future of several fringe stars.

Last season’s Serie A runners-up have put Tomas Palacios up for sale.

However, after his transfer to Rayo Vallecano collapsed, the Argentine center-back was on the bench last night.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard was in the starting line-up as Inter hammered Torino 5-0 in Chivu’s Serie A debut.

Offloading one of them would make room for a new center-back.

Despite a failed move to La Liga, Palacios remains the leading candidate to leave San Siro.

Only then will Inter make their move on the incoming front.
