It’s been quite a busy week for Travis Kelce (and those who write about him). Fresh off of announcing his internet-breaking engagement to Taylor Swift, the football player has also shared that his sportswear and lifestyle brand Tru Kolors has teamed up with American Eagle on a limited-edition collaboration.
With Kelce serving as creative director, the AE x Tru Kolors by Travis Kelce collection consists of two parts — the first launching on Wednesday and the second on Sept. 24. Though the drop seems timed perfectly to Kelce’s engagement (and as a hard pivot from American Eagle’s recent controversial denim campaign starring Sydney Sweeney), Kelce shared that this collaboration has been in the works for a year.
“I’ve had to keep my excitement about this collab under wraps for nearly a year,” Kelce said in a statement. “It was an awesome opportunity to team up with an established brand where both sides were excited to truly collaborate on every decision in the design and creative process that brought the ‘AE x TK’ collection to life.”
The collection includes more than 90 pieces, consisting of vintage-inspired T-shirts, varsity jackets, cricket sweaters, rugby polos, utility cargos, cashmere sets and more. Ranging in price from $15 to $180, part one of Kelce’s collaboration is available now in American Eagle stores and online at ae.com.
For the collaboration’s campaign, Kelce stars alongside fellow athletes Anna Frey, Azzi Fudd, Drew Allar, Jeremiah Smith, Kiyan Anthony and Suni Lee.
“I started Tru Kolors in 2019 on the foundation of showing up authentically and having fun with style, and we wanted this collab to reflect that same energy,” Kelce said in a press statement. “I want everyone to feel like there is something for them in the collection, something they can feel good in and make their own. I’m excited for it to finally be out in the world.”
