The Minnesota Vikings offense is going to be one that is full of several fantasy football stars in 2025.
The team, of course, boasts the potential number one pick in your drafts in Justin Jefferson, who is a machine in terms of production and consistency. There is also Jordan Addison, who is suspended for the first three games of the season, so he becomes a potential value pick in drafts. Rounding things out is the value pick that is Jordan Mason late in drafts, as people believe he can be the leading rusher in this offense in 2025.
The one player we have not discussed is the one who makes this offense operate, quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay discussed some late-round quarterback values, and topping that list was the Vikings signal caller.
Kay writes, “Since taking over the position in 2022, two different starting quarterbacks under O’Connell have posted top-10 finishes. Kirk Cousins, the QB7 in 2022, was the QB6 through the first eight weeks of 2023 before an injury cut his season short. Sam Darnold, stepping into the spotlight following McCarthy’s injury last year, notched a career-changing QB9 result in his lone Vikings campaign. It’s reasonable to expect McCarthy could enjoy similar early success. The team has everything a young signal-caller needs to succeed in his first season starting, including a stout offensive line and plethora of high-end pass-catchers to go along with a renowned quarterback whispering coach. . .”
Right now, McCarthy is being drafted as the QB19 and 133 overall, which is a tad mind-boggling.
If you are in a single quarterback league, you could easily grab McCarthy with one of your last picks while everyone else is drafting quarterbacks early. When that happens, it allows you to load up on extra talent at the running back and wide receiver positions. Do yourself a favor: sit tight in your drafts, wait to draft a quarterback, and grab J.J. McCarthy late in the draft.
