Jenna Ortega Styles Custom GapStudio Dress for ‘Wednesday’ Gala


Jenna Ortega‘s Goth styling streak went the distressed route with a custom gown courtesy of GapStudio for the “Wednesday” Season Two Graveyard Gala on Thursday in New York City, hosted by Netflix and Spotify.

The GapStudio gown was designed by Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director Zac Posen, who joined the brand in February 2024. The distressed draped T-shirt dress featured a charcoal colorway and was crafted with a cotton jersey fabric.

A washout treatment of the fabric gave the look a textural quality, contrasting the light and dark tones. Cutouts and webbing details provided further juxtaposition between the soft cotton jersey fabric and Goth-inspired aesthetic of the look.

Stylist Enrique Melendez, who’s worked with Ortega throughout her “Wednesday” Season Two promotional tour, curated the actress’ look.

“Jenna Ortega embodies the perfect blend of edge and sophistication, mystery and theatricality that makes her such a compelling artist,” Posen said in a statement.

“The look we created allowed us to push the boundaries of what Gap’s cotton jersey T-shirt can become — working in the techniques of slashing, shredding, braiding, knotting and macramé ladder, bringing T-shirt reconstruction to a couture level.”

As Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director, Posen continues to build the brand and elevate the retailer’s selection of styles. Along with Ortega, Posen dressed singer Gracie Abrams in a custom GapStudio look for her performance at the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco earlier this month.

Months following his appointment at Gap Inc., Posen’s designs went viral with an ambitious GapStudio shirt dress worn by Anne Hathaway for an event in Rome in May 2024. Posen’s creative direction for Gap Inc. already yielded two collections under the GapStudio banner — Collection 01, which debuted in April 2025, and the label’s summer drop from June 2025.
