We are under 24 hours away from the beginning of Georgia’s 2025 football season. The Bulldogs will take on Marshall a 3:30 p.m. ET inside Sanford Stadium, and they’ll do so as the No. 5 team in the nation per the Associated Press.

As usual, Georgia’s video team has released a game trailer the night before the game. It is 56 seconds long and it is narrated by the 2025 football team.

We don’t know much about Marshall at this point. The Thundering Here added roughly 70 players and brought in a new coaching staff after the 2025 season. That’s probably why Georgia has been a nearly-40-point favorite all week long. Kirby Smart, however, is not concerned with the point spread.

“A lot of respect for this head coach and his program,” Smart said on Monday. “You know, he’s been a defensive coordinator for a long time, a very successful one, Coach Tony Gibson. He’s also coming kind of home to West Virginia, and he’s got a staff that’s very passionate about Marshall. You know when someone is passionate about the place they coach they’re going to do a tremendous job, and his staff reflects that. Marshall’s got a tremendous history of a lot of good football players, a lot of good teams. To look and see what they did last year in a really extremely tough Sun Belt Conference, it kind of speaks for itself.

“So our guys are excited to go play. We always say the game’s about us, and it will always be about how we play. We’ve got to go play our best, so that’s the next step for us.”

In addition to it being Georgia’s first game of the season, it’s also the first home start of Gunner Stockton’s career. He played six quarters at neutral sites to end the 2024 season. That included a second-half comeback against Texas in the SEC Championship and a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

The Bulldogs are tasked with offsetting the loss of 13 players who were taken in the 2025 NFL Draft and at least three more undrafted free agents who made NFL Rosters. Still, Georgia is ranked in the top five of both preseason polls.
