As LeBron James approaches a record-setting 23rd NBA season, Nike is getting the Los Angeles Lakers star ready for the long haul with his latest signature sneaker. Also in its 23rd iteration, the Nike LeBron 23 is expected to debut before the end of the year and a new batch of official e-commerce images has just hit the internet.

The shots offer the best look yet at the upcoming Nike LeBron 23. Previewed in a golden “40K+” colorway, the style references James’ historic 40,000 regular season points record. The pair is clad in a Multi-color/Black colorway which features a foil-like metallic gold throughout the entire upper which has an iridescent effect that mixes in hints of blue, green and red. 

The bottom half of the upper, which is fashioned in the shape of James’ signature crown logo, features a perforated look, while the top portion features a repeating pattern. 

Tying the shoe’s theme together, the heel features “40K+” stamping. Yet the most significant feature might not be on the sneaker itself, but its packaging. The 40K+ colorway will come in special holographic packaging with a pamphlet highlighting James’ legendary career. A gold 40K+ charm is also included in the box.While tech specs have not yet been disclosed by Nike, the product images reveal that the sneaker will use a ReactX-cushioned insole. 

The Nike LeBron 23 was first spotted in July when James worked out in an all-black wear test colorway of the model. Along with setting basketball records, James is continuing to establish sneaker history by having the longest-running signature line of any active athlete.

Specifics surrounding the men’s version of the Nike LeBron 23 40K+ are yet to be confirmed, but the sneaker will also be released in grade school sizing under a style code of IM9007-900. Retail pricing for the pairs has also not been determined, but readers can expect more details soon.
