Fall's Trending Sneakers Feel Like a Blast From the Past: Shop The Best Retro Trainers

Welcome to back-to-school (or the office) season. We’re preparing for real life again (RIP, summer) with some trendy, comfy, fall-ready sneakers. And, according to the style set and our favorite designers, this season’s coolest runners are a blast from the past.

According to StockX’s Women’s Sneaker Market Report, women’s sneakers are taking over the footwear category more than ever before: “Nearly 30% of the sneakers added to StockX’s catalog in the first half of 2025 were women’s sneakers — up from just 16% in 2020,” it notes. Crowd favorites include brands like Asics, Salomon and Puma, as well as a growing interest in the WNBA’s signature sneakers, which are reportedly on pace to hit “double-digit sales growth on StockX in 2025, and that is on top of a 938% jump from 2023 to 2024.”

Some of this year’s bestselling sneakers for women, according to StockX, include the Samba, Taekwando and Bad Bunny’s Ballerina sneaker from Adidas, Onitsuka Tiger’s silver metallic Mexico 66 sneaker, Salomon’s Sandy Liang Speedcross 3 Ribbon shoe, as well as the XT-6 sneaker and the Yasuhiro Peterson sneaker by Maison Mihara.

Shoppers are opting for comfort, turning to brands like Clarks and Merrell for their utility. In terms of aesthetics, fall’s trending kicks expectedly include rich neutrals, nude and mauve tones, plus autumnal vibes like deep burgundy and olive green suedes. Animal prints are also still going strong: This season’s trendiest patterns include cowhide, python scales and, of course, leopard spots.

Ahead, see (and shop!) all our favorite sneakers for fall 2025.
