Man Utd, Tottenham Target Makes Interesting Admission Amid PSG Link

Maghnes Akliouche was one of the most in-demand players as the summer transfer window neared its close. The French midfielder attracted strong interest from PSG and Manchester City after a standout 2024-25 season with AS Monaco.

In May, 90min France reported that Manchester City and PSG had stepped up their pursuit, with Monaco reportedly valuing the midfielder at around €70 million. Pep Guardiola admires Akliouche’s left-footed creativity and versatility, seeing him as a potential long-term successor to Bernardo Silva.

More recently, The Independent reported that Tottenham view Akliouche as a more affordable alternative to Savinho, with Manchester City reportedly placing a £70 million price tag on the player, while Monaco value their attacking midfielder at £47.5 million.

At 23, Akliouche has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s brightest young talents. Despite the interest, he stayed at Monaco after the summer window had come and gone, suggesting a move away may happen in the near future.

Akliouche recently spoke with L’Equipe. The Frenchman noted that he knew he wouldn’t be leaving Monaco despite the rumors linking him to other top European clubs.

“When did I realize I was staying at Monaco? Only three or four days ago,” Akliouche said (h/t Le10Sport). “Before that, nothing was really decided. When I scored against Strasbourg, I kissed the club badge to show that I was staying.”

According to a previous report from L’Équipe, Manchester United are also a name linked to the Frenchman. Nonetheless, it appears as though several Premier League clubs are keen on the Monaco standout. Despite the interest, it will take a significant sum.

Monaco reportedly ask between €70 million and €80 million for the midfielder, a high price that hasn’t deterred any of the clubs tracking him, making a summer transfer seem more likely.
