Robert Griffin III makes bold Deebo Samuel comparison, bolder Jordan Seaton claim during Delaware-Colorado
originally appeared on The Sporting News
Robert Griffin III provided valuable insight on Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Kaidon Salter’s first drive against the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens on Saturday, which resulted in a nine-yard touchdown run from the Liberty Flames transfer to put CU up 7-0.
He also made several bold claims about Buffs left tackle Jordan Seaton and receiver Drelon Miller.
Griffin predicted Seaton was a future top-10 pick in the NFL draft. RG3 also said that Miller was comparable to Washington Commanders receiver Deebo Samuel.
It’s possible that both end up being true. The Samuel comparison is natural from the eye test. Miller has shown more potential at this stage of his development, finishing with 32 receptions and three touchdowns as a true freshman. Playing alongside school record-holder Shedeur Sanders certainly helped his cause.
Meanwhile, Seaton has a tall order ahead of him to reach that lofty standard while at Colorado. Then again, Coach Prime did just deliver a top-10 pick with Travis Hunter. Deion Sanders’ NFL connections are real, though Hunter’s Heisman win did plenty of scouting for league reps.
Either way, Griffin’s hype job of two of CU’s most intriguing offensive pieces was noticeable on the broadcast.
Colorado missing key Buffs on offense vs Delaware
The Buffaloes entered the matchup without Omarrion Miller, who was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Salter, who told FOX Sports announcer Jason Benetti before the game that Colorado didn’t have a QB split between him and Julian Lewis, connected with Miller on a game-high 39-yard reception last week in a 27-20 loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Dallan Hayden missed his second straight game with a hand injury expected to keep him out for at least a month.
